Trembling of hearts, a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

Trembling of hearts

a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

For every one speaking the truth,
There is a bullet or arrest,
Are we a country that is free,
Or freedom is under arrest.

Well, I cannot say,
Well, I should not say,
Well, I could not say,
Nor should you ever say.

Where are the rights, given in the constitution,
Where is the separation of power,
Stumbling foundations,
Trembling of hearts.

Note:- The poem describes the sad state of Indian democracy. As it is today
