Rat Race, a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

Rat Race

a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

What are you all running for,
Is it power position or strength,
Have you joined the rat race,
Are you going to join?

Wait, my dear just hear me,
Wait I pray, I plead,
This race has a beginning and no end,
Oh my dear just understand.

You may think you'll be victorious,
You may run for victory but alas,
This race has a beginning and no end,
Why don't you my love understand?

You are trying to fill a void,
Trying to fill a gap,
You need love eternal,
Which you can't understand.

It's not power that will fill you,
Alexander left with his hands outstretched,
Strength of humans always fail,
Why don't you just understand?

You are seeking for love,
You are seeking for peace,
Power, position, and strength,
This void can't ever conceal.

The soul is seeking for God,
We don't realize,
The rat race is a rat race,
Even if, we meet demise.

And l tell you there someone who loves you,
Someone to whom you are dear,
He cares for you that he gave his life,
If only you have time to realize,
If only you have time to realize.

None can carry anything, a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

None can carry anything
a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

None can carry anything,
All baggage has to be left alas,
All things will be left behind,
Why did I gather it alas?

Nither could Alexander take it,
Nor would I carry it alas,
None could ever take it
Why should I bother alas?

I heard Him say sell it
Give to the poor and follow me
Neither could the rich man do it,
Nor can I follow it alas.

Give peace a chance, a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob, India

Give peace a chance

a poem by Reginold Ajay Jacob,

Seek not peace in pieces of silver,
Seek not peace in pieces of gold,
Neither do they have it,
Nor can it be sold.

Peace in pieces of silver,
Peace in pieces of gold.
If only peace could be bought,
If only this could be sold,

Gift of God, are free gifts
Free for all mankind,
Neither can they be bought,
Nor can they be sold.

Everyone is, seeking peace,
Yet fail to find the same,
The world is seeking it in arms,
I consider it a shame.

Alexander died with outstretched arms,
What could He take away,
Why fight for perishable,
When none can take away.

Ashoka the mighty king of our land,
What did He realize,
After the battle of Kalinga,
His dream of empire didst die.

What did He seek for in the end,
Was it lands and more lands,
King could understand futility,
Why don't you understand?

The groaning of the war,
Reached the kings ear,
It hit Him right in His heart,
From war the king didst part.

A terrorist who blows himself,
Is also seeking peace,
Teach my soul to teach me,
Teach me the meaning of peace

Prince of peace can impart it,
Would we give Him a chance,
Seek not peace in broken pots,
Pray for peace that lasts.
