I couldn't greet her,
New year this time,
And the joy of the year,
Couldn't ever be mine.
Now that I meet her,
I am bound to be late,
Yet I can't wait,
For the year to pass.
Though the new year is past
Yet not for me
Changing calendars
Won't ever do
It's my prayer Almighty,
That we two may meet,
That I may greet her,
And my new year meet
