Freedom as a prostitute is tied
a poem by R.A. Jacob
I thought we were still under British,
When I realized seditious meeting act was applied,
I thought it was used against freedom fighters,
In democracy such laws but why.
They say Britishers left English,
I say they left seditious meeting act,
What a contempt of democracy,
Used every now and then.
They left us with an able system of laws,
We have made a mess,
Justice has her eyes tied,
Poet has pen, and tears in eyes.
Where is separation of powers,
Why are judges transferred,
The second they raise their voice,
Blurred are the lines of distinction.
Freedom as a prostitute is tied.
